The project is an attempt for a fruitful dialogue, through processes of participative democracy, between civil society and public entities with the perspective to find possible solutions to prevent well as to respond against organized crime. The methodology to be used concerns the implementation of a number of activities including, inter alia, meetings, seminars and debates.
Objectives
The aim of this project is to foster the co-operation between public entities, on the one hand, and civil society, on the other hand, in an attempt to promote the culture of legality while raising awareness towards organized crime prevention as well as fighting against organized crime.
Target Groups
Both organized civil society and citizens by themselves, i.e., a variety of different stakeholders such as journalists, representatives of associations, teachers, social workers and law enforcement instruments.
Activities
- Preparatory activities:
Sharing of good practice of active citizenship on and research of local networks active in the fight against organized crime.
- Main activities:
Cycle of debates with representatives of organized civil society committed to the prevention and fight against organized crime;
Cycle of meetings with different institutional representatives (at local, national and European level) of the law enforcement system;
Participation to various celebrations and initiatives related to the 23rd anniversary since the murder of the Judge Giovanni Falcone who was killed by mafia;
International seminar on possible cooperation between law enforcement institutions and organized civil society to both prevent as well as combat crime;
Local dissemination of results in each partner country;
Evaluation meeting.
