MICRON! Project Final Conference
ANTIGONE – Information and Documentation Centre on Racism, Ecology, Peace and Non-Violence organises the Final Conference of “MICRON!: Managing Issues of Controversy by human Rights educatiON” project. The project run in 2018-2019 under Council of Europe “DISCO: Democratic and Inclusive School Culture in Operation” program including a pack of educational activities that aimed to the promotion and reinforcement of democratic education in schools of 5 prefectures allover Greece (Thessaloniki, Ioannina, Achaia, Heraklion, Lesvos) through the realisation of educational projects designed to manage issues of controversy in local schools.
MICRON! activities and results are to be presented in the project’s Final Conference that is going to take place at Thessaloniki on Saturday March 30th 2019, 10.00-19.00 at Oikopolis Social Centre (Ptolemaion 29A str., 5th floor). The Conference is going to be realised with the participation of official educational stakeholders and teachers coming from the different project regions.
The Council of Europe educational toolkit titled “Managing Controversy, Developing a Strategy for Handling Controversy and Teaching Controversial Issues in Schools” that was translated and printed in Greek language under MICRON! project will be distributed to all Conference participants. The participation to the Conference is free and participation certificates will be given.
