MICRON! Conference

MICRON! Conference

On Saturday March 30th ANTIGONE successfully organized at Thessaloniki the Final Conference of “MICRON! Managing Issues of Controversy by human Rights education” project. Educational stakeholders, school directors and teachers participated in the Conference representing Thessaloniki and Northern Greece as well as Ioannina, Patra, Heraklion, Lesvos and Chios islands. The above-mentioned regions were the ones where project’s educational activities took place during the school year 2018-2019.

It is of particular importance that Edward Huddleston; one of the authors of the Council of Europe professional development pack “Managing Controversy Developing a Strategy for Handling Controversy and Teaching Controversial Issues in Schools” participated in the Conference. The development pack was translated in Greek, printed and is being distributed to the school community by ANTIGONE under MICRON! project.

Participant teachers presented their school projects on managing controversy by human rights education while they had the opportunity to meet, discuss common aims and worries as well as set the basis for further collaboration and exchange.

The following day, on Sunday March 31st ANTIGONE realized an evaluation workshop open only for the 25 teachers who participated in project’s activities from its launch in 2018 so as to collect feedback and ideas for further steps.
